Rough Hill Tarn is a shallow tarn on the moors of the north-eastern Lake District. A shallow, reed-lined tarn, its attraction is the sense of isolation - despite being close to the road. There are a few trees by the north-west corner, with the outflow close by at the north end of the tarn. There is no inflow, all the water comes from sub-surface flow through the marsh to the west.
