Slew Tarn is well hidden in the woodland behind Skelwith Fold caravan park. It was probably a natural tarn originally, but was enlarged to make an ornamental lake for the house that is now the caravan park offices. It does not appear to have been cared for much in recent times, the lake shores, surrounding woodland and paths being very overgrown.

I did not find it overly inspiring when I visited, however that may be because it was raining and the light was completely dead. Reviewing my photos, I wonder if it might be rather attractive in better light. At least I know now where it is, so could revisit sometime.
