Originally built to supply water to Windermere, Dubbs Reservoir is now used as a supplement to the Thirlmere system. It isn't especially inspiring nor photogenic, the dam being almost as long as the other three sides of the reservoir. Access is via Dubbs Road, a bridleway which runs past the reservoir to the east. The reservoir is surrounded by a high wall, access within is permitted for fishermen however.
