Ghyll Head was originally constructed to provide the water supply for the Windermere area and is now only needed when supplies are low. It is on private land, access being exclusively for members of the Windermere Fishing Association. However, good views of it may be had from the adjacent Ghyll Head Road. Despite being
artificial, it is a rather attractive stretch of water and well worth
photographing. |
