Kemp Tarn is the largest of several ponds on the top of Reston Scar, north of Staveley. The footpath up the scar from Staveley follows the ridge to the south of the tarn but it is possible to access the tarn itself.

A pleasing little tarn with grassy hillocks around it and views of the fells to the north-west or to the south, it is starting to become silted and overgrown with several patches of reeds and sedge encroaching the middle.
