Over Water lies just north of the Uldale Fells, a natural lake which was enlarged in the 1920s by the construction of a small dam at the outfall, to provide water for Wigton. Little used for water supplies now, it is mainly a fishing lake. The banks are a mixture of open fields and woodland.

Being on private land, it is not accessible. However, there are good views from the road to the south and the east.
